“[internet/telecomms] was restored by Palestinian hands, without it being held over our heads by Musk, nor international and UN bodies, nor the criminal Biden, nor European crocodile tears, nor being held over our heads by Sisi”
if you live in the us and have literally 2 minutes to spare go fill out the form here – it will give you a script and also prompt a phone call that will patch you through the the office of your district’s representative. specify that you will not consider voting for them again, or for any elected officials, if they don’t call for an immediate ceasefire and end to us funding of genocide. jewish voice for peace has a lot of other action items, most of which can be done from home if you aren’t able to attend a protest.
Update: the inbox is full???? What does that mean help!!!
I used the link above to call, I messed up once from fumbling my headphones (so i could read prompt and speak) so I had to do the process twice. When I was successful I got to my representatives voice mail and was told the inbox is full by an automated phone operator and got hung up on!
HOW CAN I HELP NOW???
if you’re running into issues with full mailboxes, this is the link to send an email to your senators and representative. it’s pre-populated but you’re able (and encouraged) to personalize it. i’d recommend trying to call again tomorrow as well!
gaza has just been completely cut off from the world.
after increased intensity of israeli aistrikes tonight, the last cable providing communications was destroyed. telecommunications have been completely cut off. they cannot reach one another. they cannot reach paramedics. the red crescent society has completely lost contact with their branch in gaza. nobody inside can reach anyone inside, and especially not outside of gaza to tell us what is going on. this is a complete atrocity.
al jazeera has managed to maintain infrequent communication with their journalists in gaza. from their reporter wael dahdouh: “we are not fine. body parts are everywhere, missiles are targeting everyone, and the bombing hasn’t stopped for a second.”
do not stop talking about gaza. they are trying to commit genocide in the dark. do not stop talking.
The Palestinian Ministry of Health released a full report with names, ages and IDs of those who were killed – maybe at least in part as a fuck you to Western media and the US president who suddenly cast doubt on the number of fatalities. Over 7000 people died. Whole families wiped out forever. It’s beyond comprehension. May their memory be eternal.
